THE SUFFERING CHILDREN OF THE SECRET STATE

PYONGYANG, North Korea - When we talks of nuclear tests and deadly attacks on a South Korea, first thing come to our mind is North Korea. A country labelled the rest of the world, as a secret state. Shall I say, a mystical country domains by people of evil descendents.
Unfortunately, very few people seems to know the hunger crisis is taking shape in North Korea. There are no foods relief deliveries from any where.
Not even from Beijing, the closest ally to N. Korea. The Chinese have even refused to sell rice to the organization intended for delivery to North Korea.
  • The children are starving. They have nothing left to eat. For the orphans, the shortage of food will become a real threat during the coming weeks.
  • North Korea, a country of 22 million. Up to 3 million of its’ people have starved to death in the last 10 years. More than 40% of North Korean children now suffer from chronic malnutrition.
  • Children of the Secret State is an investigation into North Korea, considered by many as the last Stalinist dictatorship, a hidden and sealed country riddled with propaganda and saturated with hostility to democracy and the West.
  • Experts say that only 20 percent of North Korean land is farmed. And by its own admission, the North Korean regime has said it is lacking 1 million tons of food needed to provide for its people and has issued an appeal for foreign aid. Cap North Korea has depended on foreign food aid since a devastating famine killed around 2 million people during the mid-1990s.
Some countries have delayed decisions to provide aid to the country because of North Korea's nuclear tests and deadly attacks on a South Korean warship in March 2010. Following an appeal by the United Nations and the accusation one month ago by former President Jimmy Carter that the United States was committing a "human rights violation" by not providing relief, Washington said this week it would decide within days whether or not to send a mission to look into the the food shortage situation in the country.
